At China Alloy Parts, we are a leading and certified supplier of oil and gas alloys and solutions for critical offshore components. With years of experience within the metals industry, we understand the requirements needed for oil and gas applications and have the ability to tailor alloys to their specifications.
From downhole tooling to valve components, heat exchangers to flowlines, chemical process equipment and OCTG, the most popular choice for oil and gas mechanisms are specialty alloys. Our team know which alloys are best suited for individual components and offer expert advice throughout the entire process.
Alloy Properties for Oil & Gas
Heat and corrosion resistance are the most important properties needed for oil and gas applications, for both internal and external components. Due to the high chemical content of the substances and being in constant contact with external factors like seawater and weather elements, the alloys need to be able to protect against these factors.
Also, the extremely low temperatures within the compressor parts and heat exchangers mean the specialty metal needs to have cryogenic properties. It is essential that the alloys are not only available in a number of product forms so it can cater to the specific application, but to be of consistent high quality and reliable.
Specific Alloys for Oil & Gas
Nickel Alloys
Nickel alloys are known for their strength and their excellent mechanical properties at extreme temperatures; this makes them ideal for the transportation of liquified natural gas. As well as this, nickel adds corrosion resistance when it is combined with steel alloys so it can protect against oxidation and other corrosive elements.
Copper Alloys
With excellent thermal conductivity, copper alloys are best suited to heat transfer processes within the oil and gas industry. Its cryogenic properties are very favourable for this sector as well as its corrosion resistant characteristics. Copper alloys have the ability to be used in a range of environments including seawater, fresh water and cooling water.
Inconel Alloys
Inconel is a super alloy consisting of nickel and chromium, and Inconel 625 and 718 are commonly the ones used for oil and gas applications. Both heat and corrosion resistant, Inconel alloys are the perfect choice for components such as chemical processing equipment, transportation of oil and gas, and other valves and tools.
Relevant Alloys Supplied by CSM
OFE (Oxygen-Free Electronic) or OFHC (Oxygen-Free High Thermal Conductivity) Copper is the highest purity grade of copper at 99.99%.
Inconel 625 (Alloy 625) is a nickel-chromium alloy with the addition of refractory metals columbium and molybdenum.
Inconel 718 (Alloy 718) is a well-known austenitic nickel-based super alloy which exhibits excellent tensile and impact strength, even at cryogenic temperatures.
Grade 5 Titanium Alloys have exceptionally high strength characteristics, meaning they’re very reliable under extreme conditions and can withstand temperatures up to 315°C (600°F).
Aluminium alloys are alloys in which aluminium (Al) is the predominant metal. The typical alloying elements are copper, magnesium, manganese, silicon and zinc.
With its unique mechanical and chemical properties, molybdenum is an outstanding material that can meet the most exacting requirements.
17/4PH is a high-strength, stainless steel made up of chromium, nickel, copper and niobium. With precipitation-hardening and martensitic qualities, it is both tough and corrosion-resistant.
